Christmas market will be Bethphage’s final event to close 20th anniversary year celebrations
A Shropshire organisation which provides support and services for adults with learning disabilities has organised the final event to round off its 20th anniversary year.
Held at The Lantern Centre in Sundorne, Shrewsbury during the evening of Wednesday 17 December, Bethphage’s Christmas market and celebration will include stalls, refreshments, cakes, games, jewellery, books and children’s craft activities such as gingerbread and Christmas card decoration. There will also be a raffle (£0.20p a ticket) with a first prize of £50 cash, as well as Christmas hampers, meal, manicure and makeover vouchers, beauty and make up products, toys and many more.
Sam Port, event organiser and a support worker at Bethphage, said: “Proceeds from our final event of this 20th anniversary year will go towards establishing a support and social network for adults with learning difficulties in the Shropshire area next year. Planned around needs and wants, we aim to provide opportunities for people to meet socially, while at the same time access support, information and advice from various other networks, as well as take part in learning and development through active involvement. I would like to thank Lakeside Plant and Garden Centre for its generous donation of £50 and Stadco for a case of wine.”
“The Lantern Centre is a lovely, easily accessible venue in the heart of the local north Shrewsbury community and we, along with the businesses supporting the event, aim to provide something for everyone attending whether it’s a potential Christmas presents for friends and family, magic reindeer food at only £1.00 a bag or simply some traditional festive cheer,” she added.
The Christmas market at The Lantern Centre starts at 7pm and admission is free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets for the raffle are available at the event and in advance from either Sam Port, Ceri Lewis or Xenia Davies at Bethphage 01743 440318 or xdavies@bethphage.co.uk.
